A website AI assistant for the RCGP Annual Conference 2026

Wonderly, on behalf of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP)

Between 22 September and 4 November 2026, excluding test chats, the assistant recorded:

1,214
chats
2,257
messages
29%
chats beginning with a suggested starter question
31%
chats in which visitors were directed to a human contact

The challenge

Conference visitors need clear information about tickets, the programme, the venue and the event app. Questions arrive not just during office hours, but in the evenings and at weekends too.

The solution

Wonderly and BizDriver.ai introduced a website AI assistant on the RCGP Annual Conference website. It answers visitors in plain language using the conference website content and answers supplied by Wonderly and RCGP.

Suggested starter questions help visitors get started in one tap. When a request needs personal assistance, such as a booking change or an invoice query, the assistant directs the visitor to the appropriate Wonderly contact.

The results

Between 22 September and 4 November 2026, excluding test chats, the assistant recorded:

  • 1,214 chats and 2,257 messages.
  • 2,006 messages before the conference, accounting for 89% of all messages in the reporting period.
  • 352 chats beginning with a suggested starter question, representing 29% of chats.
  • 379 chats in which visitors were directed to a human contact, representing 31% of chats.

The most common topics were tickets and booking, the programme and sessions, dates, the event app, and venue and travel. Visitors also used the assistant in the evenings and at weekends.

A manual sample review found no contradictions in the answers checked against RCGP-supplied facts, including dates, venue, opening hours, deadlines and contacts. The report also identified 444 answers with knowledge gaps, highlighting where additional content could improve coverage.

Beyond the event

After the conference, the welcome message and starter questions were updated, and RCGP-approved answers were added about the 2027 conference, taking place on 27 to 28 October 2027 at ACC Liverpool. These updates help visitors find information about the next event as well as follow-up information from 2026.
